North Star Emergency Vehicle Service can provide several training opportunities for your department. Most training days start with a classroom session. The focus of this session is the mechanical operation of the pump itself. People who understand how the pump functions are safer and more efficient operators than those who don't.
From there we move on to the hands-on portion of training. Each student will get the opportunity to practice the concepts discussed in the classroom. By practicing the basic parts of pump operation, your members will become proficient at drafting, pressure control, and valve operation.
Training sessions can also be customized to your department's needs. We have done water supply (tanker/tender) classes, relay pumping classes, and CAFS (Compress Air Foam Systems) training. Techniques demonstrated during these classes will help you to maximize your fire flow in a rural setting.
